Gopher Balls Wins Raspberry Festival Softball Tournament

Also: Fall sports registration is underway, the Somali Community demands attention and information for prospective School Board candidates.

The Gopher Balls won Saturday’s Raspberry Festival Men’s Softball Tournament with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Gopher Balls knocked The Wildest Boar into the losers’ bracket with an 8-6 win to advance into the final of the double-elimination tournament.

In the losers’ bracket, The Bachelors finished off The Wildest Boar with a narrow 9-8 victory. But The Bachelors weren’t able extend the tournament another game. The Gopher Balls defeated them 17-14.

  • Interested in running for Hopkins School Board?: Hopkins Public Schools is hosting a free School Board Pre-Filing Workshop for anyone interested in running for the School Board. The workshop takes place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Eisenhower Community Center Boardroom (second floor of 1001 Highway 7, Hopkins).
