I have lived in the Hopkins/Minnetonka area my whole life (except 10 months in California). Attended Minnetonka Schools my whole academic life. My son Trey (17) is a Senior at Hopkins.

When my son was 3, we were watching my 2 younger brothers at their Hopkins Hurricanes Wrestling Practice when one of the coaches asked if he wanted to join in. And that was the beginning. He is one of just a few that will have wrestled 13+ years at Hopkins.

That was when I began helping out. The coaches need to coach and don't have time to answer questions. I can collect papers, and make calendars, board meetings, registration, first aid, equipment fixing, etc.

My time has been spread throughout several different sports:

Hopkins Area Little League - 6 (7?) years as Team Mom, Asst. Coach, Board Member, Tournament Director & Safety Officer (winning 2 Safety Award trips to Little League World Series)

Hopkins Football League - 5 years as Team Mom, Asst. Coach (1 of 2 woman football coaches on team and in all of the LMAA), First Aid, & Equipment fixer.

Wrestling - 14 years (1 more left) as Team Mom, Communications, Administration, Photographer, Asst Tournament Director, scorekeeper, statistician, banquet coordinator, etc. etc. Both for the Hopkins Hurricanes (youth club) Jr. High and High School Teams.

Rugby - 4 years (1 more left) as Team Mom, Communications, Registration, Merchandise Coordinator, Tournament Director, scorekeeper, photographer, team liasion, Head Administrator and head coaches right hand. Hopkins is the only club in the state  with 4 teams; Middle School, Girls, U-17 Boys and U-19 Boys. And Question answerer-every practice I am bomb-barded by the kids with questions (and now I get texts from them).

 I love every minute of it. The highs and lows, the good times and bad. All of these kids are mine. They are why I do this. To see them shine, to grow to fine men and woman and learn valuable lessons along the way. Not just for them, but me too!
