Editor’s Note: The following announcement comes from the City of Hopkins. In 2012, the Hopkins Fire Department received a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to continue and expand the fire department's home fire safety program. The grant allows the department to conduct free home fire safety surveys, provide free smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and offer home safety education. The program also allows firefighters to perform trip and fall prevention surveys for older adult residents of Hopkins.
