Swimming Beaches, Ponds Open in Three Rivers Park District

Nine beaches throughout the west metro open May 25 for the 2013 season, according to a park representative.

Are you looking for a place to cool off this summer? Three River Parks has several swimming options.  Swimming Spots  Hours of Operation 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park is open until sunset Cost Swimming beaches are free and unguarded.  Swimming ponds (Lake Minnetonka and Elm Creek) require a paid pass and small fee. Hours lifeguards are on duty vary. Visit the Lake Minnetonka Swimming Pond webpage or Elm Creek Swimming Pond webpage for details. Season passes are available. Infant and Children Children not toilet trained are required to wear swim diapers while in the beach and pond areas.   Information provided by Three Rivers Park District.

Synchronized swimming is a sport for girls who love to do it all—dance, swimming and gymnastic moves.

Eisenhower Community Center Offers New Swim Times Starting Monday

Renovations allowed the community center to expand its swimming programs.

Residents have more swimming opportunities at Eisenhower Community Center because of renovations that allowed the center to expand its programs and bring in more people. "The locker rooms and a few other areas needed an overhaul. It was a beautiful renovation, and it's fun to see these programs start," said Deb Ukura, youth program coordinator. During winter break, the pool will have open swim for third through sixth graders from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 27 through Dec. 29. Lifeguards are on duty. From Jan. 8 through March 19, the community center will host Saturday family swim from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The family swim allows parents to bring their children for a fun afternoon of jumping in, doggie paddling and floating.
