Supervalu has reached a definitive agreement to sell off stores under five brands and two related in-store pharmacy brands as part of a $3.3 billion agreement that will also bring in former OfficeMax head Sam Duncan as the new Supervalu CEO and president, the company announced Thursday. “I am excited by the opportunity to lead Supervalu,” a news release quoted Duncan. “The company has very solid market positions and I see great potential in our ability to successfully build on each of these three core businesses.” AB Acquisition, an affiliate of a Cerberus Capital Management L.P.-led investor consortium, will acquire Supervalu stores under the following brands: It will also acquire related Osco and Sav-on in-store pharmacies. Shala Marie Stadtfeld has been charged with felony theft.
Police are looking for a former cafeteria manager accused of stealing nearly $1,800 from her workplace, according to charging documents filed Tuesday. Officers started looking into the case April 16 when Aramark Food Services, located in the Supervalu building, reported that an employee had stolen money from the company between April 10 and 16, Detective Renee Meuwissen wrote in the charging documents. Police learned that 34-year-old Shala Marie Stadtfeld, a manager at the Aramark cafeteria, had failed to show up for work April 16. The head cook contacted a supervisor, who got permission to open the safe and get cash to open the register. Stadtfeld had the safe key, and there was a spare key whose location was known only to three people—…
