Kristina Lynn Garvey, of Minnetonka, and Jorge Alberto Perez-Amparo, of St. Louis Park, are both charged with felony fifth-degree possession of drugs.
Police say they found two people in a Minnetonka apartment with 317 grams of marijuana. Kristina Lynn Garvey, 26 of Minnetonka, and Jorge Alberto Perez-Amparo, 20 of St. Louis Park, are both charged with felony fifth-degree possession of drugs. On Feb. 10, Minnetonka Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in an apartment at 10301 Cedar Lake Road. Police say they heard a loud thump and shouting before entering the apartment. According to officers, two plastic baggies full of pot were found in plain view on the living room table. Police say they also saw in plain view additional bags of marijuana and a bundle of cash in the amount of $6,626 in an open closet. Sam Seward,10, was struck by a car in April. Seward’s father said his son has been “saved.”
Sam Seward, 10, was upgraded from critical condition to serious condition Tuesday, according to a Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman. Seward was struck by a car on April. According to a post by Seward’s father on the boy’s CaringBridge page, “He has had a good week…continuing to look better and trying to move around more.” As early as next week, Seward may undergo another surgery, although the reason has not been specified. Sam Seward, 10, was hit and critically injured on Excelsior Boulevard in Minnetonka on April 12.
Sam Seward, 10, remains in critical condition Friday, according to a Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman. Seward was struck by a car on April 12 in Minnetonka. Earlier this week, Seward underwent surgery to replace breathing tubes in his mouth and neck. According to a post by Seward’s father on the boy’s CaringBridge webpage, this procedure has, “made him a lot more comfortable and his Dr. said it will help speed up the healing time.” In that post, Seward’s father also said that the boy is currently being weaned off sedation drugs and soon may no longer need breathing assistance. Hopkins eighth grader wins essay contest, award certificate and $100.
Kaitlyn Ho, an eighth grader at Hopkins North Junior High School, was one of 37 winners across the state, to win the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association's essay contest. The challenge for junior high school students across Minnesota was to write a 500-word essay about, "Cool Technology Tools: How Do I Use Them for Good?" Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet visited Ho at school earlier this week. He presented her with an award certificate and $100 check. In helping to sponsor the essay contest, the Minnetonka Police Department, hoped to encourage local students to come up with ways kids, adults and organizations in Minnetonka can use phones and computers, constructively— for the good of the community.
