Hopkins Band Director Named Minnesota Music Educator of the Year
Kay Hawley, band director at Alice Smith Elementary and Glen Lake Elementary, will be honored at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Convention on Feb. 15.

Kay Hawley, band director at Alice Smith Elementary and Glen Lake Elementary, has been named this year’s Minnesota Music Educator of the Year by the Minnesota Music Educators Association. She will be honored at the MMEA Convention on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. “Kay is so deserving of this award,” said Beth Potter, principal at Glen Lake Elementary. “Her positive energy ignites her students to perform their best and her love of music drives them to meet her expectations.
