Closures will continue until the project is completed in mid July.
Drivers will face MnPASS lane closures on Interstate 394 starting next week. Lanes will be closed between Interstate 94 and Highway 100 beginning May 6 in order for crews to replace protective gate arms, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced. The agency will close access to the reversible section from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Evening, overnight and weekend closures may also be needed. If those closures do wind up being necessary, MnDOT will provide additional information. The section will be open during major downtown Minneapolis events and during the following times: Crews will complete the project in mid July.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, starting at 9 a.m., the exit ramp from northbound I-494 to eastbound I-394 will be closed for repair of a water main leak. Portable message signs were put up at the location Wednesday, Dec. 5, to notify motorists of the upcoming closure. A detour will be posted. The closure is necessary as city of Minnetonka crews locate and repair a broken water main beneath the ramp. The ramp will reopen by 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, weather permitting. Statement from the city of Golden Valley says the officer was not injured.
A Golden Valley police officer shot and killed a woman on I-394 near the St. Louis Park-Minnetonka border Thursday afternoon. The officer tried to stop a woman in a vehicle on I-394 near Highway 169, according to a statement from Stacy Carlson, Golden Valley police chief. The driver pulled the car to the side of 394 near the Hopkins Crossroads. "The lone occupant of the vehicle, an adult female, was in possession of a handgun and was subsequently fatally shot by the officer," Carlson's statement said. "The officer did not sustain any injuries." Additional information about what transpired between the officer and the woman during the traffic stop was not available. Mr/Mrs Quem, I'm not sure how to respond to your post. Obviously you have something against public safety, as this officer was "trigger happy." Maybe you could explain what a trigger happy cop is. I guess I don't know. I think that police officers these days are held to some pretty high standards and a "trigger happy" cop would not last long.
