Hopkins Man Charged With Pushing Over Uncle In Wheelchair Twice

A Hopkins man is accused of pushing his uncle’s wheelchair over twice after the alleged victim refused to give him any more work. Officers went to a 14th Avenue North apartment at 3:28 p.m. Dec. 26 to investigate a 911 hang-up, Detective Raymond Laudenbach wrote in the criminal complaint filed Friday. They heard yelling when they arrived. After they knocked on the door and announced “police,” they heard window blinds shaking and saw a man fleeing out of a window. Officers learned the man was 24-year-old Antone Rico Anderson. They later arrested him at the Hopkins Village Apartments unit where he lives. An unnamed man who is confined to a motorized wheelchair told police that Anderson, who is the victim’s nephew, had been at the 14th Avenue…

Prosecutors Drop Charge Against Assault Suspect

Prosecutors have dropped the charge against a woman accused of assaulting her boyfriend, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg said. The unidentified man told police that Brittany Danielle Scheuing shoved him from behind, causing him to go through a glass door during a June 29 argument. Scheuing told Patch that she never pushed the man. She said they got in an argument and that he tripped as he left the home—injuring himself when he tried to brace his fall on a little window above the door. She was initially charged with third-degree assault, but Glassberg said that charge was dropped because of the man’s lack of cooperation. According to the County Attorney’s Office, prosecutors dismissed the case Sept. 18 after the victim told the defense …

Convict Knocks Out Wife's Teeth, Steals Money Meant for School Clothes

Police say Marvel Galvaston Williams, who was recently released from prison, broke into his estranged wife's Hopkins home, stole money from her and knocked out her two front teeth.

Hopkins Police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Oxford Street just after 5 a.m. Aug. 21 on a report of a “serious” domestic assault, according to the criminal complaint, signed by Hopkins Police Sgt. Police: Man Threatened Daughter With Knife Over Missing Energy Drink

A Hopkins man is in jail following accusations that he threatened his 15-year-old daughter with a knife and choked her after he couldn’t find his energy drink, according to charging documents released Friday. Police learned of the incident after responding to a report of a domestic assault at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday on 21st Avenue North, Police Officer Raymond Laudenbach wrote in the charging documents. Upon officers’ arrival, a girl “who appeared to be in great distress” yelled to police that her father had choked her and pulled her shirt. She said her father, 46-year-old Edwin Alan Hoffman, had asked her where his Monster Energy Drink was. Strangling your child over a missing beverage (or for any reason) is not discipline, it is abuse. I hope this man gets the maximum sentence, and is never given back custody of his daughter. Two Hopkins Men Charged With Domestic Assault

Both face two counts of fifth-degree domestic assault.

Two Hopkins men face unrelated misdemeanor charges for alleged domestic assault incidents over the past several days. Lenell Tyreese Young, 25, and Ayouba Foday, 28, have each been charged with two counts of fifth-degree domestic assault. Young’s girlfriend, according to court documents, told police Young struck her Monday while in the back of a car at 11th and Excelsior avenues. The officer who responded to the call saw blood on and inside the woman's mouth. The mother of Foday’s child told police he threatened her with a steak knife May 24 at their shared home in Hopkins. She accused Foday of stabbing her in February and hitting her over the previous two days.
