A Hopkins man is accused of attacking the mother of his children again.
A woman’s hair was strewn across a bedroom following an apparent domestic assault by her children’s father Sunday. The woman told police she got to the Oxford Street home a little after midnight and found the father—33-year-old Ronald Edward Harris, of Hopkins—giving a tattoo to her uncle, Detective Raymond Laudenbach wrote in the criminal complaint. He asked how she was doing, and she told him that she’d had a bad day. The exchange somehow escalated into an argument. The woman said Harris grabbed her near the top of the stairs. She then punched him because she thought he was going to push her down the stairs. Harris then threw her to the ground, hit her and pulled her hair. Brittany Danielle Scheuing said her boyfriend injured himself during the argument. He refused to cooperate with prosecutors.
Prosecutors have dropped the charge against a woman accused of assaulting her boyfriend, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg said. The unidentified man told police that Brittany Danielle Scheuing shoved him from behind, causing him to go through a glass door during a June 29 argument. Scheuing told Patch that she never pushed the man. She said they got in an argument and that he tripped as he left the home—injuring himself when he tried to brace his fall on a little window above the door. She was initially charged with third-degree assault, but Glassberg said that charge was dropped because of the man’s lack of cooperation. A live-in caretaker faces an assault charge after the wheelchair-bound woman he cares for accused him of drunkenly yelling at her and breaking two phones when she tried to call 911. Officers went to the Meadow Creek Condos unit at 10:40 p.m. Thursday following a report of a possible domestic assault, Detective Raymond Laudenbach wrote in charging documents released Tuesday. Police say they found the Hopkins resident in a Richfield motel with his wife, who has a protection order against him following an August assault charge.
A Hopkins man convicted of five domestic assault offenses in the past 10 years—and charged with a sixth in August—has been charged with violating a protection order after police found him holed up in a Richfield hotel room with the same woman he’s accused of assaulting in the most recent incident. Ralph Fitzgerald Martin, 48, faces a felony charge of violating an order for protection, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. A Hopkins man convicted of five domestic assault convictions in the past 10 years has yet again been charged with domestic assault, according to charging documents released Tuesday. Westside Village resident Ralph Fitzgerald Martin, 48, came to officers’ attention July 4 when an unnamed woman reported she ran across the street because her husband had been beating her, Sgt. Michael Glassberg wrote in the charging documents. She told police Martin had been drinking and becoming more aggressive as the night went on. A Hopkins man is accused of punching his girlfriend’s son after the boy took his marijuana pipe. On Thursday, police went to the Shadyside Circle home where 39-year-old Joesf Wayne Jacques lives with his girlfriend and her twin sons, Police Sgt. One of the boys, whose name and age were not disclosed, told police he and his brother were in the home Wednesday while Jacques was sleeping. An 8-year-old Hopkins boy tried to fight off a man who attacked his mom early Friday morning, according to charging documents filed Monday. A woman told police that her boyfriend, 51-year-old Julius Biyogo Momanyi, of Hopkins, woke her up at about 1:30 a.m. while she was on the living room floor with her daughter, trying to sleep.
