As part of the Hopkins public school district, Gatewood Elementary serves the communities of Minnetonka and Eden PrairieMore as well as Hopkins. Artwork covers the walls at the school's entrance and sculptures are displayed in the front office. Principal Donna Montgomery is a sculptor herself and values art. This emphasis is extended into the classroom as well. The staff focuses just as much on academic rigor as creating a peaceful school community.

Hopkins North Junior High is in Minnetonka and shares its campus with L. H. Tanglen Elementary and Hopkins HighMore School. It is one of the first Minnesota middle schools or junior highs to receive the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award from the U.S. Department of Education. It has also been named as one of the country's 100 Highly Effective Middle Schools. The school has a variety of opportunities for students - including fine arts, world languages, exploratory classes and gifted and talented programs.

Hopkins High School draws students from all or part of seven of the metro area's western suburbs: Hopkins, Minnetonka,More Edina, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, St. Louis Park and Plymouth. It is the state's first National School of Excellence and helps students excel in a variety of arenas. Fifteen Advanced Placement-specific courses, plus fifteen more subject areas that correspond to AP course descriptions, offer students a shot college credit. It offers up to six levels of language instruction in American Sign Language, Chinese, French, German and Spanish. Students interested in technology can study advanced television production, obtain A+ Computer Technician Certification or use the school's state-of-the-art music production lab. Opportunities in the fine arts also abound, including several choir and musical groups, theater and art courses.
