Eisenhower Elementary is a school focused on helping students thrive in a global society. The school is a "peaceMore site," meaning it emphasizes teaching students with different backgrounds and experiences to work together.

Technology is an important part of the classrooms. All fifth graders receive a laptop to use each day and take home each evening. Teachers of third, fourth and fifth grades have interactive white boards. Every classroom has amplification systems to make it easier for students to hear.

XinXing Academy is probably the most unique part of the Eisenhower campus. The academy is a Chinese immersion program that began in 2007. It is a full immersion program in which immersion teachers use no English at all in the early years. Students from across the district and the Twin Cities are enrolled in the academy through open enrollment.

The University of Minnesota's Confucius Institute designated the school's classrooms as Confucius Classrooms, opening access to grants and training materials.

XinXing currently has two sections each of full-day kindergarten and first through third grades and will continue to add a grade level every year through the sixth grade.

Alice Smith Elementary - named after a first-grade teacher who taught in the Hopkins School District for 29 yearsMore starting in 1919 - is a school that represents the full cross section of Hopkins' diversity. Students from a variety of backgrounds attend the school, and teachers are focused on helping everyone achieve. The school has many activities for students to participate in beyond the traditional classroom time, such as "Art Adventure," band and orchestra. Technology is important. Every fourth- and sixth-grader receives a laptop for the year under the school's "One-to-One" program. Classrooms have interactive white boards and amplification systems that make it easier for students to hear.

As part of the Hopkins public school district, Gatewood Elementary serves the communities of Minnetonka and Eden PrairieMore as well as Hopkins. Artwork covers the walls at the school's entrance and sculptures are displayed in the front office. Principal Donna Montgomery is a sculptor herself and values art. This emphasis is extended into the classroom as well. The staff focuses just as much on academic rigor as creating a peaceful school community.
Esse Driving School

Esse has decades of experience teaching crash-avoidance habits that help keep drivers safe. Instructors will teachMore drivers of any age and provide free pick-up. The school offers both classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons as well as private lessons. It operates classes on a continual, rotating basis four nights a week. Each student must attend 10 classes running three hours each but can begin anytime that fits their schedule. Although it's generally easiest if students can attend 10 days straight, it's not required. The school is located on Hopkins Mainstreet 1/2, with the entrance right across from the Driskill's parking lot.
