LIVE BLOG: Follow Along With Minnesota’s Largest DWI Enforcement Effort

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety will be tweeting every arrest from Friday’s patrols. Catch all the tweets here.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has a new tool when it comes to deterring drunken driving: Twitter. On Friday night, there will be 150 squads patrolling major corridors in the Twin Cities’ largest-ever, one-night, coordinated DWI enforcement effort. But this effort isn’t notable just because of its size; it will also offer Minnesotans the chance to follow along via Twitter. The Department of Public Safety (@MnDPS_OTS) will tweet the age and gender of those arrested for DWI using the hashtag #May10DWI. Too busy to follow along in real time? Mark Wetsch Admits to 30 ‘Man in Black’ Robberies, Including in Hopkins

Wetsch pleaded guilty Monday to charges of robbing five banks and admitted robbing more than two dozen more.

The person accused of being the 'Man in Black' bank robber admitted on Monday that he stole $3,106 from the Hopkins US Bank branch. Mark Wetsch, 49, of Minneapolis, made the admission as part of guilty plea to five charges of bank robbery at other Minnesota banks between April 26, 2011, and Dec. 27, 2011. Wetsch had previously pleaded guilty to a 2012 bank robbery in Brewster, MN, that led to his arrest. The robbery charges result from the theft of: Wetsch admitted "he wore a black mask and brandished a firearm believed to be real," according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota. Prosecutors are seeking a prison sentence of 14 years. Prosecutors did not charge Wetsch with the Hopkins robbery, but it was one of 25…

Should MN Law Protect Coaches' Jobs from Complaining Parents?

Proposed legislation would ban school boards from dropping coaches' contracts 'solely' because of parent gripes.
