you do not seem to understand the settled law on this issue and i strongly recommend you educate…Read More yourself before you share any more uninformed opinions and mislead your readers as to the facts of this topic. Grrrr

Please be more specific, both as to who "you" is, and what ideas you consider…Read More "uninformed".

First of all, we're talking justabout religion because religion is specifically addressed in the…Read More Constitution. Discussions about condoms or other non-religious activities aren't subject to the same constitutional language. Public schools or other units of government don't necessarily have to be "neutral" on all issues. They just can't establish religion or preven the free exercise of religion.
Your idea of eliminating anything questionable misses the point (hopefully Amy was referring to you!). A school's cheerleaders, like the football team, the debate club, the band and choir, and so on, represent the school. Student clubs that are allowed to meet at the school don't necessarily represent the school. There can be a Christian club, an athiest club, a Black Student Association, whatever. If they're not doing anything dangerous or illegal, they should be allowed to say whatever they want.
Donald, any student can pray or practice their religion during any of their free time at a public school. Religious based groups can meet at a school. The issue is with the school's cheerleading squad putting Bible passages on their signs. That's establishment.

Turning Point, I couldn't have said it better myself. How long can we allow these government…Read More buffoons to lie, cheat and steal? They would be in prison for the things they are doing if they were in the private sector. The craziest thing is that they have forgotten that they work for us, we are their employer and they continue to poop on us. Very sad, something must fix this.

Hmm...Nice attempt at rewriting history, but I sure don't see many 'captains of industry' from the…Read More banking and financial services worlds serving much hard time for the product shenanigans they proferred and which nearly destroyed the American and global economies in the process. Who were the real crooks and the bigger saps? Seems pretty obvious.

Whoa, Steve. I know you're angry, justifiably so, but the death penalty is barbaric, cruel, and…Read More unusual punishment that brings the society that practices it down to the alleged depravity of the people who are it's victims. I cannot and will not support it and anyone who does. Yes, this man should be held accountable for his crimes, but the death penalty is not the way to do it.
And speaking of perpetuators of war crimes in this country, we've got our own share of them who need to be held accountable for what they have done. Read Nick Turse's "Kill Anything That Moves" or Jeremy Scahill's "Dirty Wars" for a long list of the war criminals we produced in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. American Exceptionalism does not excuse them for their war crimes. I think they should be held accountable, too!
