Storm Topples Tree, Knocks Down Power Lines In South Hopkins

Firefighters went to a home on 10th Avenue South after storms knocked down power lines, causing a suspicious burning smell in the home and appliances that smoked briefly.

Crews didn't find any flames, but power remained out.

A tree in a nearby home fell onto a garage, and branches elsewhere lay strewn about. However, damage was far from uniform. Just south of the neighborhood, residents didn't see any damage.
