Junior Royalty Crowned at Wednesday Coronation

The new 2013-14 Raspberry Royalty had some cute answers during the ceremony.

The Hopkins Activity Center was filled with lights Wednesday evening as 6- to 8-year-olds competed for four spots in the Raspberry Festival’s Royal Family during the Junior Royalty Coronation.

After the candidates answered questions and performed a song, the judges chose the following children as 2013-14 junior royalty.

Logan Norrid

  • Title: Junior Queen
  • Grade: Third
  • School: XinXing
  • Hometown: Minnetonka
  • Favorite things: Recess at XinXing and her teacher because she teaches Logan Chinese
  • Why she wants to be junior royalty: Because she loves new adventures and meeting new people
  • If she could be any animal, what would she be?: A dog because then she could run around in the yard a lot

Aidan Koehn

  • Title: Junior King
  • Grade: Third
  • School: XinXing
  • Hometown: Hopkins
  • Favorite things: In the summer, he likes to go camping and be in nature. He also likes baseball and stealing first base.
  • Advice he’d give to his parents: “Give me a lot of candy.”

Ivy Carr

  • Title: Junior Princess
  • Grade: Third
  • School: Alice Smith
  • Hometown: Hopkins
  • Favorite things to do: Running through the sprinklers and swimming in the summer, playing tag with friends
  • If you could go anywhere, where would you go?: Texas because her dad’s friend Wayne is there and he’s funny.

David Rothman

  • Grade: Third
  • School: Glen Lake
  • Hometown: Minnetonka
  • Favorite thing to do: Play scrabble
  • What he wants to be when he grows up: An astronaut
  • Favorite meal to eat: Pizza that he makes at home
