Kate Hondlik and Jimmy Longoria share the method behind their painted scarves

Kate Hondlik shares the techniques behind her scarves with artist Jimmy Longoria as the two craft unique designs together.

Artists Kate Hondlik and Jimmy Longoria craft their painted scarves, sharing with us the methods behind their style and artistic choices. Designed for their ongoing exhibition at the University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach Center, the scarves are made in conjunction with Mentoring Peace Through Art, Longoria's non-profit organization.

"The scarves are painted in the chicano style of art," Hondlik tells us, "and create a busy and decorative pattern." They will be displayed at the upcoming artist's reception on June 14 at the UROC gallery.
