Robins Win Adapted Soccer PI State Championship

Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka beat Dakota in the tournament final.

The Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka adapted soccer PI team edged out Dakota United to claim their sixth straight state championship.

The Robins beat Dakota 5-4 Saturday in Stillwater after dominating earlier rounds. The team entered the tournament ranked first among north teams. Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka kicked off the tournament by trouncing Minneapolis South 11-2. They followed that up with a 7-3 victory over the South Suburban team before moving onto the finals.

Joe Dubisar, Tyler Sarff and Jimmie Flores were named to the Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team, according to the Robins’ website.
