Hopkins Track Teams Compete in Relay Event, Girls Tie for Third

The Hopkins track teams competed in the breezy Lake Conference Relay Meet on Friday, the girls tie for third and boys finish fifth

The Hopkins girls track and field team tied for third place at the first annual Lake Conference Relays on Friday at the University of Minnesota’s Bierman Field.

The Royals tied with Minnetonka for third with 119.0 points, trailing Eden Prairie’s 133.0 and Wayzata’s 123.0. Ten teams competed at the relays—all five Lake Conference squads along with Monticello, Chanhassen, Henry Sibley, Chaska and Chisago Lakes.

The Royals’ boys team placed fifth overall on the day with 100.0 points.

On the girls side, Hopkins took first place in the 3x100 meter hurdles relay (54.98), the 1600 meter relay (4:26.91), the 4x400 meter relay (4:14.54), the 4x1600 meter relay (21:23.24), the distance medley relay (13:27.38), the 3x300 meter hurdles relay (2:30.72), the 100 meter hurdles (16.25) and the 300 meter hurdles (47.15).

The boys team finished first in the 800 meter relay (1:31.9), the 4x400 meter relay (3:29.20) and the 300 meter hurdles (41.13).
