Hopkins Tennis Clinches No. 1 Seed in Team, Individual Tourneys

The Royals start section play Monday.

Royals tennis secured the No. 1 seed in the section 6AA team tournament.

The boys kick off the tournament at 3:45 p.m. Monday at Hopkins against the winner of a matchup between No. 8 seed Minneapolis Southwest and No. 9 Academy of Holy Angels.

In singles play, No. 1 seed Ryan Erickson plays at 9:30 a.m. May 31 at the Baseline Tennis Center following a first-round bye earlier that morning. Hopkins’ Andy Harris will also compete in the singles portion of the tournament, kicking off with a match at 8 a.m. May 31 against Edina’s Jon Yang.

The Royals have the No. 2 seed in doubles play, with Michael Fields and

Manfred Barrios bypassing the first round to start the tournament at 11:30 a.m. May 31. Hopkins’ Andrew Rust and Brandon Rabinowitz are seeded No. 8, beginning the tournament at 9 a.m. May 31 against Minneapolis Patrick Henry’s Marco O'Campo and Mason Couillard.
