Hopkins Synchronized Swimming Places Sixth at State

The Royals placed second in the long routine competition. Laura Morine won all-state honors.

synchronized swimming team finished off the season by placing sixth at last week’s state championship—one better than 2011’s seventh-place finish.

The Royals finished second in the long routine portion of the competition.

Elissa Marble, Halley Harris and Claire Marti finished sixth in the short trio competition, qualifying to move up to the long routines next year. Sarah Bonoff, Laura Morine and Michelle Olson placed fourth in the long trio routine.

Morine also was named to the All-State Synchronized Swimming team. She placed fourth for her extended solo routine and won fourth- and fifth-place medals for long figures and extended figures, respectively. She was also a member for the team that finished second in long routine competition.
