Hopkins Softball Takes Third At Class AAA Tourney
The Royals defeated North St. Paul 5-4 on Friday in Mankato
The Hopkins softball team finished up the 2011 season with a 5-4 win over North St. Paul in the Class AAA state third place game on Friday at Caswell Park in Mankato.
The Royals picked up the victory thanks to a go-ahead score by Hayley Nybo. Nybo went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the win.
Morgan Nybo picked up the win by striking out five and allowing four hits over seven innings.

Hopkins finishes the season 24-4. The Royals defeated Shakopee 5-4 in the state quarterfinals, then lost 7-2 to Hastings in the semifinals. Hastings went on to win the Class AAA title 4-0 over Forest Lake.
