Hopkins opened up the district tournament with an 8-2 win over Osseo on Thursday, then beat Monticello 12-0 on Friday. That set up the 7-2 win over Wayzata on Saturday.

On Sunday, Hopkins fell 12-9 to Eden Prairie, then on Monday the squad fell to Centennial 10-4. Since Hopkins had beaten Wayzata on Saturday, Hopkins held a tie-break and earned the trip to state. Had Hopkins beaten Eden Prairie on Sunday, it would advanced as the No. 1 seed from District 10.
