Hopkins Lacrosse Starts Off Season With a Win

The Royals beat Holy Family Catholic 13-9 Monday.

Royals lacrosse launched its season Monday with a solid 13-9 win over Holy Family Catholic.

Senior Derek Brueske led the way with five goals. Juniors Kyle Law and Griffith Woodyard each scored three, and Senior Brendon Schlaeger had a pair of goals.

Hopkins worked its way to a 3-2 lead by the first quarter and dominated the rest of the game. It closed the half up 7-5. Although Holy Family narrowed its deficit to 8-7 in the third, the Fire couldn’t maintain that momentum.

Hopkins will next travel to Robbinsdale Armstrong on Wednesday.
