The Royals battled to a 1-1 tie Monday night.
The Hopkins and St. Louis Park girls soccer teams fought a tight battle Monday night in Hopkins. The were on the attack most of the game, but St. Louis Park goalie Riley Riordan made some big saves, keeping the Orioles in the game.
Hopkins senior Abby Nyquist scored the game's first goal with a free kick that she launched to the far corner of the net. St. Louis Park defender Chloe Chong answered with a long shot that went in just under the cross bar.
The game ended in a tie 1-1.
