Junior Marielle Mankey scored two goals in the third period to tie it up for the Royals. But Minnetonka was able to slip the puck into the goal in overtime.
Th loss brings Hopkins' record eight wins, 12 losses and four ties. The Royals next play Eden Prairie at 7 p.m. Saturday in Eden Prairie.
