The Royals team defeated the Minnetonka Skippers on Wednesday night during the section 6AAAA championship game at Osseo High School.

The Hopkins Royals girls basketball team defeated the Minnetonka Skippers 72-51 at the section 6AAAA championship game Wednesday at Osseo High School.

The win secures the Royals a berth in next week's state basketball tournament.

Julia Wiemer and Sydney Coffey led the Royals with 14 points a piece during the game, giving Hopkins a strong lead through most of the game.
