The girls basketball team is in the state tournament once again.
On Wednesday, the Royals defeated No. 2 seed Wayzata by a whopping 71-44 to win the Section 6AAAA title.
Hopkins’ only blemish of the season was a 66-58 loss to Wayzata on Feb. 21. But the Royals rebounded from that black mark in a big way with Wednesday's victory in Osseo.

Junior Nia Coffey put up a game-high 24 points. Senior Sydney Coffey, her sister, tallied 17 points.
The state tournament kicks off March 14 at the Target Center.
