Hopkins Basketball Shines in Tip Off Classic

Both boys and girls teams won their games by comfortable margins.

Both girls and boys basketball teams breezed through Saturday's Breakdown Tip Off Classic at the Lindbergh center.

The Coffey sisters—Nia and Sydney—combined for 33 points in the girls' 77-37 victory over Hill-Murray, according to Breakdown Sports USA. Nia Coffey scored a total of 17 points, and Sydney tallied 16 points. T.T. Starks and Mikaala Shackelford also scored in double digits—with 12 and 10 points, respectively. In all, nine Hopkins girls put points on the scoreboard.

Point guard Siyani Chambers led the way for the boys—scoring 22 points in the 102-67 victory over Braham. But it was the Royals' depth that was perhaps most impressive. Seven Hopkins players scored in the double digits, and 11 had at least two points.
