Former Hopkins Star Joe Coleman Leaves UMN

The guard is seeking to further develop his skills under a new coach.

According to ESPN, former Hopkins basketball star and Hopkins High School graduate Joe Coleman is taking University of Minnesota coach Tubby Smith's firing a little hard.

The guard decided that he will transfer from the U of M to Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA to play with coach Randy Bennet and the school's Gaels basketball team.

"It came down to the fact that Coach Bennett has been able to develop guards and also that they have playing time available," Coleman told ESPN. "When Coach Smith left, I decided I wanted to go somewhere that I could expand my game."
