Hopkins' Coffey Selected for McDonald's All American Team

She was selected for the final roster during a Selection Show on ESPNU.

Hopkins High School basketball star Nia Coffey was selected to the 2013 McDonald’s All American Girls Team during a Selection Show on ESPNU.

Coffey and Braham High School’s Rebekah Dahlman were the ninth and 10th Minnesotans to be named McDonald's All Americans.

Coffey is among more than 800 high school seniors from 39 states and the District of Columbia who were nominated for the 2013 McDonald’s All American Boys and Girls Games. Just 24 girls and 24 boys were selected for the final roster.

Coffey, who led her team to the past two Class 4A championships, is ranked second in the state for the 2013 class, according to Breakdown Sports USA. She’s ranked 24th in total points scored and 57th in points per game, according to MN Girls Basketball Hub.

The girls game takes place at 6 p.m. April 3 at Chicago’s United Center and will be broadcast live on ESPNU. The boys game takes place at 8:30 p.m. April 3 at the United Center and will be broadcast on ESPN.
