Coffey Named Rookie of the Week

The former Hopkins star helped lead Marist College to a 56-45 victory over Princeton.

After her first collegiate start and third collegiate game, former Hopkins basketball star Sydney Coffey has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, Marist athletics announced Monday.

The honor follows a Marist victory Saturday in which Coffey helped her team to a 56-45 win over Princeton.

Coffey scored 13 points, held 2012 All-American Niveen Rasheed to 3-17 shooting and forced Rasheed into five turnovers.
