(VIDEO) Hopkins Grad Discusses Developing App to Curb Truancy
Miriam Altman developed an app that notifies parents and guardians when their children aren't in class.
A grad and Teach for America veteran is the first person featured in state Sen. Terri Bonoff’s “Community Corner” series.
During this campaign season, the DFL legislator from Senate District 44—which covers Plymouth, Minnetonka and Woodland—is using the Community Corner series to spotlight “the stories of leaders, innovators, and difference-makers in our community.”
In the video published Monday, Miriam Altman, a 2004 Hopkins graduate who now lives in New York, discusses how she partnered with friends and colleagues to develop an app that automatically notifies parents and guardians when their child is absent from class.
