Royal Page Wins All-State Gold Ranking

The student newspaper was cited for excellence in editorial leadership, content and page design/typography.

Journalism Educators of Minnesota has again recognized Royal Page with an All-State Gold ranking, according to a Hopkins Public Schools news release.

The recognition honors the student newspaper as among the state’s best. A staff of 37 students, led by , put out the 16-page paper monthly—in addition to expanded content on the newspaper’s website.  

The Royal Page earned ranking of excellence in the following areas:

  • Editorial Leadership: “for strong student-centered topics that show an awareness of the concerns of the student body.”
  • Content: “for excellent variety and student-centered stories and features.
  • Page Design/Typography: “for a nice sense of color and a simple, classic design.”

This is at least the fourth year in a row The Royal Page has won the award.
