got a spring makeover Thursday thanks to some hard work from UnitedHealth Group volunteers.

About 50 volunteers from the company worked with HandOn Twin Cities to freshen up art and activities that encourage students to stay active. The volunteers:

  • Worked on murals for the school gym that promoted activity,
  • Cleaned up the school’s garden plots and got them ready for planting,
  • Cleared dead branches and put down mulch in Alice Smith’s “Millennium Forest” and
  • Painted playground games and art for students to enjoy at recess.

In all, they invested about 125 hours worth of work into the school.
