Faith in the Land Called Holy: What’s Preventing Peace in Palestine?

Gethsemane Lutheran Church is hosting a pair of community forums that aim to bring residents information and conversations about issues of the day.

From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 11, the will be a program called “Faith in the Land Called Holy: What’s Preventing Peace in Palestine?” with Charles Lutz, who serves as Minnesota‘s grassroots coordinator with Churches for Middle East Peace. Lutz has visited Israel and Palestine eight times, five of them as the leader of peace‐seeking pilgrimage groups. He is also co-author of Christians and a Land Called Holy: How We Can Foster Justice, Peace and Hope.

The same time on Aug. 8, Fatma Reda will lead a program called Islam: Friend or Foe? Reda—an Egyptian-born psychiatrist and consultant physician who also has a PhD in comparative religious studies—is co‐founder of the International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie and vice chairwoman of MN Joint Religious Legislative Coalition. She’s lived in Minnesota since 1970 and has been a United States citizen since 1977.

Both programs take place at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. They are free and open to all.
