Alice Smith Community Breakfast

In celebration of National Breakfast Week, two Hopkins elementary schools are inviting family and community members to the breakfast table. The event is sponsored by a “Share Your Breakfast” grant, funded by the Kellogg’s Action for Healthy Kids initiative. The effort aims to bring 1 million people to the breakfast table nationwide.

Eisenhower + XinXing Elementary and Alice Smith Elementary, the two participating elementary schools, will host community breakfast events on March 6 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and March 8 from 9 to 9:30 a.m., respectively.

Both schools have Breakfast 2 Go programs, which serve free, nutritious breakfasts to all students before the school day. The community breakfast events will allow families to see how this important program works and sample some of the delicious menu options available to students.

This is one event where the motto is literally the more the merrier. For every breakfast shared, Kellogg’s will donate the monetary equivalent of a school breakfast up to $200,000—the equivalent of 1 million school breakfasts. The money will benefit schools with breakfast programs.
