Blake School Wins Fourth Challenge Cup

The Minnesota State High School League award recognizes success in fine arts and athletics tournaments.

has won the Class AA Minnesota State High School League Challenge Cup for the fourth time in seven years, according to a news release from the school.

The cup recognizes schools’ success in fine arts and athletics tournaments—with points awarded based on performance in section and state tournaments that take place during the yearlong competition.

Eden Prairie won this year’s Class AAA Challenge Cup and Dawson-Boyd won the Class A cup.

The Blake School tallied 521 Challenge Cup points—with wins in the girls lacrosse, tennis and soccer tournament. It also had individual champions in girls cross country running, boys swimming and diving, and girls and boys track and field.

It also collected points in alpine skiing, boys cross country running, debate, speech and boys tennis.

Blake previously won the cup in 2005, 2007 and 2009. It was the runner-up in 2008.

Blake will be presented with a crystal Challenge Cup in the fall. The cup travels to the winning school each year.
