You must vote at the polling place for your precinct on Election Day. All polling locations above are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those in line prior to 8 p.m. will have an opportunity to vote regardless of how long it takes for everyone in line to vote. Those arriving in line after 8 p.m. will not be allowed to vote.

Pre-election registration ended Oct. 18. Those who aren’t registered can register at the polling location for their precinct. One of the following forms of identification is required:

  • Driver's License or MN Identification Card or receipt for either with your current address
  • Previous registration in the same precinct
  • Notice of Late Registration that was received from the City Clerk within two weeks prior to election
  • By having a person who lives in the same precinct and who is already registered to vote sign a sworn statement that you live in the precinct
  • Driver's License, MN Identification Card, Military ID, or passport without current address AND an original utility bill showing a due date within 30 days of either side of the election day
  • Tribal ID issued by the tribal government by a tribe recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Dept of the Interior, containing the name, address in the precinct, signature, and picture of individual

If you previously registered, you must register again if:

  • you move
  • you change your name
  • you do not vote for four years

All voters must:

  • be at least 18 years old on election day
  • be a citizen of the United States
  • have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding election day
  • maintain residence at the address given on the registration form
  • have not been found by a court to be legally incompetent to vote
  • have not been convicted of a felony without having civil rights restored
