'Three' Reasons to Participate
A weekly look at happenings in your local government
The upcoming Memorial Day weekend makes this a quiet week for local government. Both the school district and city are without formal meetings, although council members will take a canoe tour of Minnehaha Creek if the weather holds up.
So here are three ways to participate in your local government this week:
Talk with your county commissioner: Hennepin County Commissioner Jan Callison will from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins City Hall. Attendees are invited to ask questions and share their comments or concerns regarding Hennepin County services.

Comment on : At its Thursday meeting, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District will discuss the installation of a water line that is necessary for the proposed park.
Discuss the Southwest Transitway: County staff want $100,000 more to publicize the Southwest light-rail line. The The Regional Railroad Authority will discuss the proposal at its meeting Tuesday.
