Share your thoughts on city sidewalks: The city is in the process of developing a comprehensive sidewalk plan. It for where to put sidewalks but wants public input. Take part in the discussion at Monday’s Park Board meeting.

Keep tabs on Marketplace and Main actions: The Beard Group for its Marketplace and Main development on Seventh Avenue. The Housing and Redevelopment Authority will vote Tuesday on whether to issue $1.4 million in tax increment financing notes already pledged as part of a financing package. 

Observe the city manager vote: as the next Hopkins city manager. Members are expected to officially appoint Mornson at Tuesday’s council meeting.

See one more effect of the shutdown: Because of the state government shutdown, Hopkins is without an electrical inspector and can’t issue electrical permits. The council plans to pass an emergency ordinance Tuesday that will allow master or journeyman electricians to perform the inspections instead. Once the ordinance is approved, the city plans to contract with the state inspector who was doing the inspections before the government shutdown.
