Point out that YouTube is profitable --- Orono throws up a straw man about net revenue vs. profits.
Point out the YouTube had multiple offers - Orono throws up some other straw man. We all get the picture....Orono loves to BullS....t

Ray said: "Orono, never mind the teenie tiny fact that the supposed Obama budget presented by Republicans were just congressional gimmicks."
Huh? Obama presented the budget. Look it up. Seriously Ray, you are trying way too hard to try and get a "gotcha" moment. Save some face, stop posting. Or, dont and continue to make my day. I good either way.
Orono November 5, 2012 at 07:47 pm
Ray, again, please check your facts before trying to get me. Non-existent? Even a 5 year old can look that up. Do the work.
Orono November 5, 2012 at 07:48 pm
The words "revenge" dont bother you?

"After stripping out revenue share" - a concept that Orono does not understand.
Orono November 5, 2012 at 07:58 pm
Orono, is referencing a report written in 2009. So much for Orono's expert analysis of YouTube !!!!!!!!!!!
That is your comeback? Wow. Youre taking all the fun out of this. This isnt even a fair fight. You found a report in 2009 that echos everything I have said that YouTube isnt profitble. How about a report from one of their audit firms or investment companies that refutes my argument? How does that comment justify your inability to understand a balance sheet.
Ray November 5, 2012 at 08:03 pm
Actually you may want to look at the BLS data...and don't confuse BLS with your Bull...t
Ray November 5, 2012 at 08:10 pm
"You found a report in 2009 that echos everything I have said that YouTube isnt profitble. "
No Orono, I caught you bulll...ting again. You posted a report by two very specific analysts that was from 2009. Nice try though.
Orono November 5, 2012 at 08:30 pm
Ray,
I am sure youre a great kid. But that is your downfall. You are making very immature decisions and choices. You are assuming that I am not very smart and couldnt possibly know what I am talking about. I am guessing that you have a top knotch degree from some fabulous liberal school. And that school has somehow made you think you are smarter than everyone else. The reality is your schooling hasnt even afforded you a job where you control a P&L. If you did, you would understand the difference between revenue and profit. But, here you are trying like hell to discredit me and my businesses by pretending you do. You dont have to like me or like what I do and if you honestly think your opinion on me matters to anyone, you are sadly mistaken. You, yourself have to be getting tired from trying so hard. You dont own a business, you dont have a job that even controls a P&L, you dont understand the difference between profit and revenue and it is time to stop pretending.
Orono November 5, 2012 at 08:45 pm
"So much for Orono's expert analysis of YouTube"
"After stripping out revenue share" - a concept that Orono does not understand." "Orono - I think you've once again proven how clueless you are" Ray, is the air getting a little thin down in mommy's basement? You are trying like hell to somehow prove that I am wrong. You are the clueless that doesnt understand that revenues are not the same as profits. I have said many dumb things in my life. I will NEVER top you. What is your obsession with YouTube? Two analysts from 2009 echoing my points. And that is "bull crap"? It is 2012, surely you can find an analyst that disagrees with the two I quoted. How about you post 1 analyst that backs your claim that revenue and profit are the same thing. Good Luck! Why do you continue to double down on an obvious error you made?
Alex Mundy November 5, 2012 at 08:47 pm
Thanks, Orono, for the insights into how a real Republican runs his business. You rip on your own employees and then you go off on me for imaginary slights on blue collar employees. I'm not the one with the superior, "respect me or else" attitude toward blue collar workers.
I grew up part of Romney's 47 percent, and my dad was a factory worker. I have a lot of respect for punchpress and turret lathe operators. Maybe the reason your employees are getting drunk and stupid is because they hate their jobs and they hate their boss. Maybe you should think about an employee assistance program under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Nick November 5, 2012 at 09:54 pm
On October 26, the business my wife and I started in 2010 hit $100k YTD gross revenue for the first time. 2011 was $81k for the year. 2010 was about half that.
We have been profitable since Day One, but we sure as hell aren't making $100k in profit this year. Maybe someday, but not right now. The expenses involved with running a business are huge. Profit is what matters, and that report on YouTube says nothing about profit.
Ray November 5, 2012 at 10:02 pm
Orono
Actually i have a very technical degree along with another one in a non-tech. field. Unlike you i don't spend my time trying to convince others how smart/not-smart i am. I leave that to BullS...ers like you. If you can't read a revenue report to asses profitability that only shows what a BullSh....er you are. For an internet portal like google the net revenue growth as displayed points to major profits, cause they have to just flip on more servers at an incremental build out cost that is minimal, cause they use generic hardware. Since you can't understand such concepts, you just keep on Bull....ing as to what a wonder you are in the field of business. You really have a syndrome, that i cannot name here. Your'e so offended that a young man of less than 30 years could build companies tens of thousand times the size of your two bit shack, that you go prozac.
Alex Mundy November 5, 2012 at 10:29 pm
Nick, sounds like you're doing pretty well under Obama with all of his anti-business policies and the unrelenting pressure of the ACA. Maybe you should just leave well enough alone. I know had my most profitable years under Clinton and Obama. Profits took a beating when Bush was in office.
Susan November 6, 2012 at 01:37 am
Orono, we have a friendly wager for charity going here:
http://stillwater.patch.com/articles/who-won-the-presidential-debate-twin-cities-patch-reacts Do you want in?
Nick November 6, 2012 at 01:53 am
I have 2 employees. The ACA mainly affects businesses of over 50 employees, and while doing so, provides incentive for borderline businesses to get under 50. That is not helpful, especially if you're the 51st employee.
Donald Lee November 6, 2012 at 02:57 am
This idea that employers under 50 employees are not affected by the PPACA is repeated ad nauseum. It should be transparently obvious that it is absurd.
Certain narrow provisions of the PPACA affect employers under/over 50 employees differently. The difference is in how the "mandate" (tax) works. The other 2600 pages - affecting hospitals, drug companies, medical schools, drug companies, other taxes, medicare, medicaid, medical device companies, doctors, nurses, state exchanges, and the IRS most CERTAINly affect those with both over and under 50 employees.
Orono November 6, 2012 at 05:41 am
Ray sadly said this: "If you can't read a revenue report to asses profitability that only shows what a BullSh....er you are"
Why do you continue to double down on your stupidity. You will note that no one is coming to your rescue. No one is agreeing with you. It is impossible for you to win this argument. Not even your mommy can save you.
Orono November 6, 2012 at 05:44 am
You have a tech degree? WTF is a tech degree?
I have an MBA from Kellogg http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/
Ray November 6, 2012 at 10:38 am
Oh boy, we see loads of people coming to your rescue, Orono. For all your "supposed" business expertise, you couldn't even fathom that youtube is extremely profitable. Rather than eat your crow, you trot out a 2008 analyst report. Actually one of those analysts in a later statement praised the very acquisition. I think that shows what a clueless conquistador you are.
Technical Degree. Yeah that's the one with which people in this country actually make things and start real companies. You know like Google, YouTube etc. That bull....t business degree of yours is the sames one that shy...ter Romney has. And all he's done is strip and flip companies. And in your case, run some two bit shack to stroke your ego.
Ray November 6, 2012 at 10:48 am
"Profit is what matters, and that report on YouTube says nothing about profit."
In 2010 Google CEO stated they were near break even (at net of about 500M). Currently with a net run rate that reaches almost 1 billion a year, your analysis says no profit ?
Ray November 6, 2012 at 10:54 am
"This idea that employers under 50 employees are not affected by the PPACA is repeated ad nauseum. It should be transparently obvious that it is absurd."
Then prove it Donald. Or point to a link.
Susan November 6, 2012 at 12:12 pm
Haha....well, I wouldn't have known about it, if you hadn't pointed me to it.
Free speech and all, and I didn't see any candidate I am supporting "approving" the ad, so what's the harm?
Ray November 6, 2012 at 12:53 pm
Orono and Mitt Romney - the similarities
- Absolute contempt for others , check. - Spew any lie, any bs. to "prove" their point , check. - When facts get inconvenient, throw up straw man arguments, like Jeep moving to China, or youtube was lucky, check. - Plenty of self serving morality. No check yet. We know that Romney used the Mormon church as his tax shelter. Not sure what schemes Orono has cooked. But wouldn't be surprised to move this box into check.
Orono November 6, 2012 at 04:07 pm
Ray, even your own arguments are against you. "In 2010 Google CEO stated they were near break even (at net of about 500M). Currently with a net run rate that reaches almost 1 billion a year, your analysis says no profit"
Near break even? That means the LOST money. Or in other words, they ALMOST made a profit. Well Ray, you almost have a clue. You lack the ability to understand what you are even arguing. Your own arguments prove yourself wrong. I cant continue this conversation with you. Your reality and the rest of the world are very different. You might want to talk to someone about this.... Good luck to you.
Ray November 7, 2012 at 02:20 am
Orono,
Near break-even in 2010 with a a net revenue run rate that is almost double that and still the resident bull..er can't comprehend the math. I know u went to Kellog. Did your daddy have to pay a lot of money ?
Donald Lee November 8, 2012 at 01:20 am
It should not be necessary to "prove" what is obvious. There is 2700 pages of "law", with dozens of provisions affecting everything from drug manufacturers to hospitals, to medical schools to medicare reimbursements. The "mandate" and its friends is the ONLY part of this that is contingent on the 50-employee test. To say that the other provisions do not exist ignores reality.

Coyotes are a welcome addition to the local landscape. I get a kick out of people who "run forRead More the hills" when they see these neat animals. Rarely, if ever, has a coyote attacked a human being.

Mike B. The liberal belief system puts the job of caring for the needy on the government. JesusRead More said, love thy neighbor as thy self. I do a very poor job of loving my neighbor but the one thing I do try and do is give back. My wife and I give between 15 and 17% every year. We have been blessed with financial success and try keep that in mind every day. Also though, we give ourselves. Giving yourself to a cause is better (in my opinion) than just giving money. We give money because we can, we give our time because we should. I have a few liberal friends working beside me for our causes but, in general, the majority of us are all conservatives. Mark Dayton is a classic example of how the liberal mind works. Give the government the money, let them deal with those losers.
Mike B. June 1, 2013 at 03:29 pm
The Democrats are 100% responsible for increasing poverty in the state. Dayton and his DemocratRead More lackeys and cronies are driving out all of the job producers in Minnesota with their socialist, anti-business policies.

Consider this- the (unelected) Met Council controls everything from parks, to trails, to transit, toRead More waste water. If a city wants to do anything they have to work with the Met Council and one of the FAVORITE expectations is that cities ADD "AFFORDABLE" or - Section 8 housing. While the recession hit the suburbs hard - the biggest influx or poor - are the indigenous poor into free housing

"Mike B" continues to look in the mirror and post about others. Emails show the Mr.Read More Hindin offered to produce his Minnesota drivers license at any west metro police station. The compulsively dishonest Mike B thing declined.

Mike B. posted June 8, 2013 at 08:58 pm "The best one can hope for is that the jewishRead More (sic)person and the muslim (sic) will tolerate one another. Hard to tell what side is most at fault. Can't say I trust either one.... neither has what we would call Western Civilization values. "......NEITHER HAS WHAT WE WOULD CALL WESTERN CIVILIZATION VALUES"??? (Capitalization for emphasis) Without the contributions of Jews and Arab Muslims you would be still in the Dark Ages worshiping golden cows and there wouldn't be your version of "western civilization" Do I really have to remind you of a Jewish carpenter. I totally agree with both points. Republicans have zero business deciding social issues. Democrats,Read More as Mark Dayton just proved, have zero business deciding important adult decisions that deal with finances and taxes.
Dan Johnson June 12, 2013 at 07:07 pm
Orono. You seem to assume my on-line fight for equal rights is a reflection of my entire life. ItRead More isn't. I've missed a few days, as I was kayak camping, without electronics. It also seems you are repeating the mistake of comparing atrocities, and then dismissing as irrelevant the one that seems less severe. This misses the point that no atrocities are acceptable. As I have stated repeatedly, all religions, as well as non-religious belief systems, promote the Golden Rule. Different sects of all of those religions also find excuses to ignore it. No matter what the belief system claimed as an excuse for anti-gay prejudice, refusing to treat others as you would yourself is a violation of every major ethical belief system, as well as a violation of the promise of equality in our founding documents and required by the constitution. Any person who espouses any belief system that requires hating and harming others, has earned the label of "hater". Having a belief system is not a virtue when it requires harming others. Yet, again, not all prejudice requires hate. It may be a result of a lack of careful consideration of the information, or simply a distrust of others who seem different in some way.
Dan Johnson June 12, 2013 at 07:08 pm
Orono. You said: "I hate liberalism." We have stated you are free to hate if and as youRead More want. But neither you, me, nor MB should be allowed to use hate as a justification for refusing to treat others as you would yourself under the law. MB makes it clear, he would use the law to harm all gay people severely, based on his hate.
Dan Johnson June 12, 2013 at 07:28 pm
Donald. Again, you resort to mischaracterizing Joyce's comment in order to support your desire toRead More reinstate discrimination in the public square. Tyrannies result when discrimination based on your choice of being offended, is allowed under the law. This is the reason the Golden Rule is found in every major ethical belief system as well as a requirement of our system of government. Your desire to harm others based on your personal beliefs, does not extend to the public square. Again, segregation is only one of many examples of the atrocities that result when prejudice and discrimination are enshrined in the law. As you said yourself, the law is needed for protection of equal rights when someone is offended, not when they are not.
Susan June 9, 2013 at 07:25 pm
Mike B., you must really be bored if you had to come back to this... I attack the ideology andRead More people that want to decide for everyone how they should live their lives. You know, those who would condemn or persecute those wanting something different that, BTW, is granted to them by way of living in a free country. It's time to try some new material, Mike, this is really getting old and tired.

People in general have a very difficult time discussing race. I nave gone to interestingRead More presentations sponsored by the St Paul Foundation. (https://www.facingrace.org/) Good people who are trying to understand are often afraid of saying the wrong thing. It takes a lot of patience and tolerance to engage in this conversation. It is often difficult to realize that even though many of our generation did not set up the situation, there are still many advantages built into being in the racial majority and change is painful.
Dan Johnson June 4, 2013 at 10:23 am
The divide of race has been America's constant curse. Each new wave of immigrants gives new targetsRead More to old prejudices. Prejudice and contempt, cloaked in the pretense of religious or political conviction, are no different. They have nearly destroyed us in the past. They plague us still. They fuel the fanaticism of terror. They torment the lives of millions in fractured nations around the world. These obsessions cripple both those who are hated and, of course, those who hate, robbing both of what they might become.” Bill Clinton
