Minnehaha Creek Plans to Avoid Levy Increase

The watershed district's Board of Managers preliminarily approved a budget without a levy increase.

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District plans to hold its tax levy steady this year.

At a workshop Thursday, the Board of Managers approved a preliminary 2012 budget that would set the levy at $7,742,005, the same as in 2011, according to a watershed district news release.

For a median value home in Hennepin County—just under $250,000—the district's portion of property taxes would be about $3 per month.
