Live Streaming Coming to Hopkins Meetings

The city expects to start streaming meetings in the middle of May.

Residents will soon be able enjoy the pleasures of city meetings at their leisure.

expects to start offering live, online streaming of its meetings in the middle of May, City Manager Mike Mornson announced last week.

The service will allow residents to watch City Council, Zoning and Planning Commission and select other meetings from their computers. The videos will be bookmarked so that viewers can go back and easily find the agenda items they want.

Hopkins is purchasing the service at a cost of $650 a month from a company called Granicus, which already streams video for Minnetonka.
