Prosecutors Charge Two Minnetonka Men in Arts Center Burglary

They are accused of stealing items from a private room in the Hopkins Center for the Arts.

Prosecutors on Monday filed burglary charges against two Minnetonka men accused of stealing items from the .

Surveillance video captured Edgar Solorio-Vasquez, Wyatt Amar Palmer and another man on May 20 entering a private room at the arts center that was off limits to everyone but staff, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg wrote in the charging documents.

Patch is not naming the third man because he was not charged.

In the room, Palmer, 18, took a laptop, iPod Touch, iPhone and a wallet, according to the charging documents. Within an hour, the three visited the Blake Road Pawn America, where Solorio-Vasquez, 19, tried to pawn the iPod touch.

Palmer admitted entering the room and taking items, according to the charging documents. He also said they tried to use debit cards found in the wallet at . They left the cards and wallet in the parking lot after the cards were declined.

Solorio-Vasquez admitted being with the two other men but denied taking any of the items or having them in his possession.

Both Palmer and Solorio-Vasquez have been charged with third-degree burglary, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine

Glassberg told Patch that the third man wasn’t charged because as far as police know he didn’t participate in the crime—either taking the items or pawning them.
