Police: Woman Started Fight By Peeing on Floor, Fought Officers

Alexandra Gabriel Clark faces two assault charges and a charge of terroristic threats arising from an incident at the Mainstreet Bar and Grill.

A Hopkins woman is accused of assaulting officers who responded to a fight she reportedly started by peeing on the floor of a Mainstreet Bar and Grill restroom and then threatening to hurt anyone who told on her.

Police went to the bar Sunday after receiving a call about a fight there, Detective Raymond Laudenbach wrote in the criminal complaint. As they arrived, one of the officers saw a woman running away. Bar patrons pointed at her and yelled, “She did it.”

The officer approached the woman, later identified as 20-year-old Alexandra Gabriel Clark, and escorted her away from people who had been chasing her. However, police say she became combative, pulled her arm away and swore at the officer.

When the officer tried to handcuff her, Clark reportedly began kicking and elbowing the officer and threatening to beat the officer up. The officer took Clark to ground and held her there until other officers arrived.

Because she would still not stop kicking, fighting or threatening officers, they tried to “hobble” her legs—or place them in a restraining device. Police say she reportedly spit on another officer’s forearm as they were doing that.

Officers were eventually able to subdue her and place a spit hood over her head.

While the first officer was taking her to jail, police say Clark threatened to kill her and her family—promising that her family would be dead within 24 hours. She also continued to be aggressive with jail staff.

Police later learned that she started a fight in the women’s room of the Mainstreet Bar and Grill by peeing on the middle of the floor and threatening to hurt the other women if they told on her.

Clark has been charged with felony fourth-degree assault stemming to the accusation that she spit on the officer and gross misdemeanor assault connected to the accusation that she assaulted the original officer. She’s also been charged with felony terroristic threats for allegedly threatening the officer.

The felony assault charge carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $6,000 fine, while the misdemeanor charge has a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $3,000 fine. The terroristic threats charge has a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Clark was released from Hennepin County jail Wednesday.
