Police Suspect Link Between Hopkins Walgreens Robbery and Two in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police think an unidentified man robbed three Walgreens pharmacies in five days.

An unidentified man who robbed the Blake Road Walgreens is thought to have also robbed two Minneapolis Walgreens, Minneapolis Police announced Wednesday.

The man approached the counter of the Hopkins Walgreens just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday, showed the pharmacist a handgun and demanded prescription narcotics.

Minneapolis police think the same man robbed a Walgreens pharmacy on the 3200 block of West Lake Street in Minneapolis just after 9 a.m. Nov. 18, according to a Minneapolis Police Department news release.

They also think he robbed a Walgreens on the 2400 block of Hennepin Avenue South at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. As at the Hopkins robbery, he flashed a handgun, made his demands and left the store.

Employees at the Hopkins store described the suspect as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s. He’s about 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a thin build. They said he had teeth that are yellow and crooked and a “scruffy” beard—although the Minneapolis police news release said he appears to be unshaven or have a lighter colored goatee.
