Joesf Wayne Jacques has been charged with felony domestic assault.

A Hopkins man is accused of punching his girlfriend’s son after the boy took his marijuana pipe.

On Thursday, went to the Shadyside Circle home where 39-year-old Joesf Wayne Jacques lives with his girlfriend and her twin sons, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg wrote in charging documents filed Friday.

One of the boys, whose name and age were not disclosed, told police he and his brother were in the home Wednesday while Jacques was sleeping. The boy wanted to use his brother’s phone, and the brother promised to lend it to him if he took Jacques’ marijuana pipe.

The boy then went and took the pipe. When Jacques learned that he’d done that, he got angry and punched the boy in the chest in front of his twin brother, according to the charging documents.

Jacques admitted punching the boy because he’d taken the marijuana pipe.

Prosecutors have charged Jacques with felony domestic assault, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

He’d previously been convicted of domestic abuse and violating a no-contact order.

Jacques is being held in the Hennepin County jail on $40,000 bail.
