Motorcycle Plunges 32 Feet Off Bridge

Police say a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were driving illegally on the Regional Bike Trail.

A pair of motorcyclists crashed Sunday when their bike plunged off a bridge while they were driving illegally on the Regional Bike Trail near the Hopkins and St. Louis Park border, Sgt. Michael Glassberg announced.

Hopkins and Three Rivers Park police responded to the area at 7:16 a.m. They found a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman next to Minnehaha Creek.

They had fallen about 32 feet from a bridge while riding the motorcycle. The motorcycle left the paved trail and crashed under the creek bridge. Police suspect illegal and unsafe speed was a factor.
