Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 11-Year-Old in Hopkins

Prosecutors allege counts of second-degree and attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Prosecutors are charging a Minneapolis man with sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Hopkins.

Abdinasir Alasow Mohamed, 36, appeared in court Monday on one count of second-degree and another of attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to court documents, the girl approached Hopkins Police a week ago to report a sexual assault that allegedly occurred at a Hopkins home two to three days earlier. The girl told police Mohamed touched her, rubbed himself against her and later tried to force himself upon her. She also told police she was able to get away from Mohamed and run to another room in the house, where she reported what happened to someone else.
